Trying to code steering angle sensor to car.

So I am getting closer, or at least I thought. I broke down and bought a new steering angle sensor to fix the EDC error that won't go away. (Steering angle sensor range exceeded)

Install new sensor, bring car to get it coded.

They cannot code the steering sensor because there is a fault in one of the buses that goes to all the stuff in the trunk. (Amp, Bluetooth, Sat, etc)

The software wont proceed to code if there is any fault anywhere in any system, even if its not a related system. The fault has been isolated to the Amp in the trunk, when that is removed from the bus that bus comes alive (They are all daisy chained)

However the software still wont code the car because now it knows a piece of the system is missing.

So please tell me there is some other way to code a steering angle sensor without first replacing the amp. (This is the Premium Sound amp). The Amp works fine, I use the radio everyday, just something in the amp that communicates to the bus over the fiber optic cables is faulty.

All I want is the EDC working This is way more complicated than it needs to be.

Yep, the unit could be coded directly via WinKFP, however, BMW shops do not use that. They would have to resort to physically remove the amp, change the vehicle order to mirror that, and then integrate the new sensor.

Of course!!

Looks like your downloads have about 5 minutes left. This isn't a classic steering angle adjustment, something else is going on.. Rest assured that if all of the hardware is working properly that this will be fixed in no time..
