DCT clutch temperature warning message

First time launch controlling last night and while spinning through gears 1, 2... I switched to 3rd and all power was cut off, car switched itself into neutral and message came up for clutch temperature to let it cool down. Anyone else get this? Tips?

Never had this although I've only used LC a few times. You don't normally shift manually when using LC, just let it go. Did you get the little checkered flag icon?

Yeah I got the flag, and I thought I was shifting first and second? Maybe I just shifted the same time as the computer... But it's pretty weird. Didn't drive the car hard before the launch. Wondering if it'll happen again I just don't feel like burning more rubber

If you shift manually, you will disengage Launch Control.

Maybe that is what happened.

Does it shift itself if it's just burning rubber? Or will it just wait till it reaches red line? And what gears does it shift itself through

were you braking and launching to try to get LC to work, or doing anything else before hand to slip the clutch ?

You went straight for LC without driving and warming up the car first? wtf

It should. There are quite a few videos out there where the DCT short shifted first gear because of too much wheel spin.

Remember, if you want LC to remain activated, you need to keep your right foot planted to the floor with the kick-down button engaged and let the DCT do the shifting. Lifting or shifting will disengage LC. Further, to get a better launch and avoid just burning rubber, ensure you are on surface with good grip (no water, dust or sand). It is also a good idea to clean and warm the tires with a quick burnout beforehand. Also, consider lowering the launch RPM to avoid too much wheel spin.
