E90 Best Riding Suspension

First of all, please don't get mislead by the thread title. This is not my first time researching this topic. I already have coil-overs, which I want to change from to a more compliant setup.

Car
  • E90 Pre-LCI
  • 18" OEM wheels.

Current Suspension
  • FK coil-overs with Koni shocks
  • Lowered 10mm below M-sport height

Current issues
  • Harsh ride
  • Not enough front shock travel due to bad coil-over design (addressed here)

I am deciding to change in to a nice Cup-Kit. I do like my height with these coil-overs; however, the ride could improve a lot from my understanding. I know they have advanced coil-over systems that are over $2000.00, which would fix my problems completely. I have lots of miles on my car and I want to stay around $1000 mark for this change. I feel like the Koni coil-overs I have right now have stiffer springs than I want. I just want a setup that would be comfortable on highway. More like a OEM M-SPORT PLUS type of a setup....

What's the best riding cup-kit (spring + shock setup) for our cars, while giving a drop similar to what I have right now?

1. H&R & Koni Performance Suspension Cup Kit - Sport ?

2. H&R Performance Suspension Cup Kit - Sport ?

2. Eibach & Koni FSD Kit ?

Ohlins R&T. Much more comfortable than stock on my car, and handles wonderfully.

I'm pretty happy with my TCK Konis.

As always with stuff like this, make sure your bushigs are still good and make sure that you order rubber spring isolators.

My wife has a 09 328i coupe with sports suspension. After 70,000 miles the shocks were
nearing the end of their life and with the run flats it was very harsh and uncomfortable.
It is a highway car so we put Michelin AS3 non-run flats, kept the sports springs and
installed Koni FSD dampers. Night and day difference in ride quality and handling.
