Name that rattle
I've noticed a rattle coming from the driver's side rear. I can only hear it going over certain bumps at 10-30 MPH. Any ideas as to what it might be? You can really hear it at 5 seconds. It doesn't seem to be the exhaust so I'm thinking something on the suspension.

-Lower nut on rear damper is loose?
-Heat shield above muffler is loose? -Nut/object got behind trunk lining and is rattling in the trunk floor? I'll add more ideas as i think of them. Is it primarily on the left side of the car or can it be heard equally loud from the right side? |

Thanks! It's only on the left. I can't hear it from the right as easily.

I lifted the car and removed the wheel this afternoon. Everything seems fine so I'm wondering if it's the shock that needs to be rebuilt? I've had the Öhlins on the car for a few years now.

It's louder outside. I have to listen carefully to hear it while driving.

I realized it really only happens on the worst bumps at slow speeds, so I'm wondering if it's just the spring rattling around a bit when the suspension is unloaded.

Very likely if the spring loses preload at full extension, you could move to a longer spring and use the height adjustment to make up the difference
