What does everyone use to hold their brake caliper when swapping out rotors?

I use a masterfully bent coat hanger but recently I chipped the paint on a caliper because it swung around and hit something.

I know someone's got a better method than a coat hanger, and yes, the 135i brakes are pretty shitty, but they are pretty nonetheless and I want to keep them that way.

put a microfiber rag folded on a jack stand and set it vertically on the stand( obviously close enough so as not to stress the brake line), and lean the top of caliper on the inner fender liner, never had an issue.

Spare wheel cribs when the wheels off, the wheel cribs are not used for holding car up (jackstands).

I'm laughing because I did just that with mine. I nicked the front caliper when the bungee cord swung. Now I set it on an upside down bucket covered with a rag.

They're out because I was servicing the coilovers.
