Lots of reading to be found on this mate but in short the DCT is proven to hold up extremely well. There is an irritating and common fluid leak which is worth to check prior purschase as it cost to change sealing but other then that bullet proof.

Plenty of high-mileage DCTs running around, as Helmsman said. I wouldn't worry about it if the car has been serviced according to BMW's requirements. If in doubt, have a dealer pull the service records and see what's been done and if the owner has had a lot of repairs.

1. Get the DCT flash to smooth out the shifts. 2. Try to go for a 2009 model with the updated and much easier to use idrive. |

From my experience is our DCT way more reliable than our S65 bearings .
