What does m sport pkg really mean?

So i ran my vin thru bmwvin.com and it lists the car as having an m sport pkg. I knew it had this from the line setting ticket I found when I bought the car. But what does the m sport pkg really mean - springs, shocks/struts, bushings, control arms, etc?

I can't tell if your serious or not. Try google, or the search feature in this forum.

It's been covered to death.

yes, i was serious. i understand the differences in wheels, lower stance, other stuff, but was looking for information regarding suspension... what might be the "best" aftermarket to maintain stance, improve handling?

reading part descriptions doesn't really address this. for example, is a bilstein cup kit at 40 mm or 50 mm lower the same as what a sport pkg 128 came with over stock? how much more rate is in the springs over stock?

just want to make educated decisions.

Sport pack sometimes does not include Msport bumpers. Otherwise the things included are:
Top speed limiter higher than NonSport
Sport Seats
MSport Steering wheel, Some sport get the skinnier Sport shape (non leather version)
Msport shocks/Springs
Msport Front Sway bar
Msport tiny rear sway bar - nonsport usually have none
Wheels are typically a special design - 17" basket Weave style for 128i. Canadian Sport got the 18" W spoke, but Msport got the 17"

do you know what aftermarket suspension "kit" most mirrors the sport pkg in terms of stance?

I would say assume Eibach, they even have a complete kit with swaybars +Shocks

H&R Touring springs sometimes had the wrong rear spring packaged and it looked jacked up.

Dinan springs are simmilar to BMWP yellow springs
or maybe even the Swift springs with Camber plate for a slight height increase

Lots of people throw the term "M-pkg" around.

The REAL way to indicating whether or not a car has official "M-pkg" is to look @ the headliner.

Normal 135i = GREY headliner
M-pkg = BLACK headliner

Depends on the the model year. Looks like he may have an 08, don't think the black headliner was available that year.

Must depend on which side of the pond you're on.
