Tire Recommendation for 19x10 (f) 19x11 (r) setup.

Hi All,

I have tried : and could not find much about the info I needed. I hope you guys can chime in/give advice on what tires to use on the following:

Wheels - Forgestar CF5V 19x10 +26 (f) 19x11 +29 (r)

Scenario 1 -

Setup with Swift Springs and the recommended tires are 275/30/19 (f) and 305/30/19 (r) on Hankook V12. Others in the forum have ran this and it had no issues with rubbing, etc.

However, I read that V12s are considered Summer Tires? (correct me if I am wrong) and I was thinking of getting all-weather purpose tires instead.

What other brand tires can I use which will not have rubbing? (I do not mind changing tire specs if necessary)

Scenario 2 -

Setup with stock suspension (non ZCP) what tires would be best for performance and making the car look beefier/good stance? I know typically having a beefier setup is easier on 18s squared (again open to changing tire specs and obtaining spacers if necessary).

Thanks all in advanced.

Before using the V12s, consider the Michelin PSAS3 (Pilot Sport All-Season 3). They will easily outperform the Hankooks in the dry as they have the dry grip that exceeds many other maker's summer performance tires. I'd run 295/30 on the rear if was me simply to keep the tire stagger down to 20mm, but it's probably not a big deal.

As to the other situation, running 10x18 ET25 all around with 275/35-18s is a typical setup; note however that this reduces the rear diameter by about 4%, so the speedo is optimistic by that amount. The other possibility (that takes away the ability to rotate tires of course) is to run 275/40s on the rear.

Thanks a lot for your input. I've read in here multiple times that V12's sidewalls are slimmer than other tires; therefore you can run them relatively wide.

Does anyone happen to know if 285-295/30 on PSS would be about the same (width wise) as running 305/30 on V12s?

Go with a summer tire, you will hate the A/S tires. Unless you track the car and have a track setup. I found the MIch PSS to do quite well in the wet yet they are an excellent summer setup. In addition to this, I found the V12s sidewall to be way to soft and lacks the connection to the road. I am running 275/295 Mich PSS in a very similar setup as yours and I am thrilled with it. BTW, a 305 on a 29mm offset tire may rub, you generally have to run a ET31-33.

+1 on the Evo2 sidewall being soft. I have those as replacement tires on my M3 when I went back to 100% stock. They're very comfortable tires and grip well, but they do feel softer than a set of PSS and definitely than the BFG Rivals that were on it before. I'd hesitate saying the Michelin A/S-3 grips better though (as the other poster did a few lines up); definitely have to disagree with that. All-season tires are pretty much garbage when it comes to performance. So stay away unless you really need them.

FWIW I ran a 18x11r+34 with Rivals in 315/30 and did not rub once I trimmed the inner wheel well liner back a bit. I could probably add 5mm to make it more flush with the fender, but it would probably rub slightly on bumps.
