Help confirm my camber plate before buying

I will be getting the Vorshlag camber plates to use with my Swift Spec-R and Koni Sport Yellows, and I suppose I will buy the plates from here:

http://www.vorshlag.com/product_info...roducts_id=199

Just to confirm what I should be getting, I need to get the plates with the OEM style spring perches, and Koni Tapered 22/14T strut style, right?

Also, add to that the control arm package as well. There are SO many control arm kits for this car, so many rebrands and remakes etc, it's hard to know what is what. Half kits, full kits, kits with extra stuff that other ones don't have...

Is this everything I will need for the full M3 Front AND Rear control arm upgrade?

And will this hardware cover all of the bolts that need to be taken out and replaced?

I've read that before, I can't see the argument for not buying the rear arms though. The closest thing I can find to a reason not to buy is that the rear M arms are softer than the OE 135i arms, but BMW chose that spec for their M cars, so there must be a reason for it.

Because the rest of the suspension is tuned to work together. Subframe bushings, geometry, dampners, springs, mounts, everything. Overall, this softer arm was chosen to work better to achieve the comfort/performance balance the engineers were looking for.

It's all up to you what you do with your car though.

That's a valid point, thanks for bringing that up. Most of those issues are addressed in my build though. The subframe bushings are swapped for M bushings already, the tires are swapped for go flat rubber, the springs and dampers will be swapped when the arms are installed, so that leaves geometry of the chassis. That is still an outstanding issue when compared to the M3, but unless I'm wrong, I think the 1M uses the same arms as the M3 anyway.

Based on fe1rx , it is overall a waste of money. You're going stiff with everything else, then compensating on comfort with these? The change is negligible. Same bushings, less torsional stiffness. In actuallitly the stamped steel will provide an extra layer of safety as the steel will yield and bend while the aluminum will just snap.

That's an interesting point, especially since the LCA is the only suspension component exposed to a bending moment. The steel ones are probably pretty tough. However I think BMW know how to calculate the strength and life span of their alloy components too.

The bigger trouble is needing to buy M3 style rear dampers, as OE style dampers wont fit on the M3 LCA.
Personally I thought about buying the LCA, but based on Fe1rx analysis I decided that the stock LCA are fine for my needs.

Just to clarify, the stamped steel arm is the rear toe arm. Impact resistance (from road debris) would be the pro versus the m3 arm.

Negligible + negligible + negligible = substantial, though I come from a generation that indexed spark plugs.

Go ahead and do what you'd like. I would love to hear impressions once everything is installed.
