2017 R8 V10 Plus 1st review. Serious numbers tested!

Very very impressive Audi. Maybe even better than a Huracan. I would say the only serious downside to the R8 is that it clearly doesn't have as pronounced an exhaust note as the Huracan, even stock for stock.

Other than that, the numbers on the new R8 are awesome! Plus much cheaper than the Huracan, makes it a tough choice.

The numbers look strong --- Ill wait for other reviews to see if there is consistency. The mph trap difference is interesting since the HP variance is very close.

0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds. Damn, that's seriously quick and it maintains that speed throughout the 1/4 mile and beyond it seems. A shame about the Plus not having the adjustable shocks as an option as I thought I'd read earlier that with this model they would be.

Great job Audi is all I can say.

Review said that the magnetic ride suspension will not be offered on US-spec models.

What do you mean wait? Let's face it, you're buying one of these.

LOL--- I technically already have one in a different looking shell. But I do see the comfort of daily driving an R8 V10 Plus

Awesome. Thanks for sharing this!

Yeah I always put more weight on Hockenheim numbers rather than on the Nordschleife numbers. With the Nordschleife, the track is so long and so big that there are a ton of variable factors even if running different cars on the same day.

Anyways, seems like the new 2017 R8 numbers aren't that much off from other numbers. The results makes sense though. It's also nice to see that old 2012 R8 GT hang in with the numbers of a 911 GT3. Especially since since you can get an old R8 GT for cheaper than a GT3 these days.

Truth be told I really like the new 2017 R8, I think Audi did a good job with the aesthetics and the performance is clearly there, even though I still like the 1st Gen R8 just the same. The Huracan is just a much sexier car though, both looks and sound wise, I would certainly pay more for the Huracan if money were no object. The new R8 seems like it will be much more of a daily car though. I think that there are a lot more people who own supercars as their one and only car these days too, so the new R8 makes sense for those types of people. I really can't wait to see the new R8 in person though.

Oh and I forgot to mention that that 7:32 Ring time for the new R8 is still no match for the KING. GTS that is.

I'm actually more interested in the battles brewing between AMS and UGR now that AMS is getting to the lambo game/ R8 game.

So a 2014+ DCT R8 is peaking my interest very much especially considering how cheap they're getting...

That v10 is truly an amazing engine...

My 80-120 on pump gas is about 2.5 seconds and only 22lbs of boost, its on the dyno right now being turned up to 35 for race gas and e85... So riding in my buddies 10.4 GTR just doesn't cut it anymore for me lol I just watch the needle slowly rise and I'm like what is this? That kind of power has spoiled me but is near unusable on the highway.
