Coding 101 question

Hi
I about to attempt coding my M4 first with re-enabling Dynamic LED. Seems like I read somewhere to just turn the ignition ON and another place to keep the engine running. Could someone clarify this, and give me pointers on what to do, what NOT to do?

Thx and appreciate your inputs.

I have another question.

- I have done VO
- Have done FDL
- one instruction said 'code FDL' for each of the cafd. I did
- then it shows to right click at each ECU (not CAFD) and select 'code' - I did.

What's next? When can I turn off the car and disconnect the OBD and try?

Pls respond ASAP. Thx

Should be good to just disconnect once you have coded the ecu.

Should I turn off the car first? Should I exit Esys application? Or can I just disconnect the cable??

There is a 'Code' option on the ECU (not the lower tree at specific ECU names. Do I need to do this as well or selecting code at individual ECUs I changed sufficient??

MPTPA,
It's normal to get messages while your coding. They should clear right after though. Since it has been several hours I'm assuming you've turned the car off by now. Did you turn it back on to see if they cleared? Also, every time I've coded my F80 I didn't turn the engine on. Just the accessories. No issues so far with this method.

Thx
Yes all my messages cleared except Fuel issue, but I am thinking it is related my engine light which I had it on. Shawn suggested a way to clear it through E-Sys, which I am going to.

I am still not convinced my Euro Anti-Dazzle works as I could not get the TMS 41/42 codes.

Anyone here have the correct set of modules and codes to change?

Thx

I was going to refer you to DMC's post in the Adaptive LED thread, but it looks like you've already found it. That's what I did to get mine working.

Thx a lot to all who helped. I have done all the coding so far... I am still trying to see the anti-dazzle feature, but not sure yet. Though I see the light in high and sides lighting up, I cannot see definitive tunnel, however, my wife who was in front of me said she was not dazzled!!

Anyone who's what the code is for
- double blink hazard lights
- Nav fuel stop suggestion enroute

Any other cool features.....

Thx again.

Fuel Stop Suggestion is enabled by default. Haven't had many requests for Double-blink hazards.

Are double blink hazards available on F80 platform?

Not sure. Haven't really searched for it, no one on this side has requested it.

I tried to get it done but failed. I admit that my coding ability is at beginner level.
