Wheel Offset question F80 M3

Dear Forum,

I have searched the forum and have figured out that 19x9.5 ET20 and 19x11 ET40 seems to be the offsets by the members here that push the wheels to the corners for a flush look.

If I wanted to give myself just a slight margin against rubbing (if I lower the car F80 M3) would I go 21ET front and 41ET rear (for custom made wheels)

Am I thinking of how the offsets work correctly?

Thanks

Yes, higher ET will push the wheels inwards.
Unless you use some extreme dimension tires the flush ET used by pretty much everyone is quite safe.

ET40 is already a bit conservative. On an 11" I run a few mm more aggressive.

What about ET 17 and ET 37 in the rears, same wheel sizes 19x9.5 and 19x11?

Those offsets can work. We ran a 36 with a 11 rear and worked out great.

We're running 19x9.5 ET 22 / 19x11.5 ET 43 on our BBS E05

Tires: Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2: 265/35/19 Front + 305/30/19 Rear

The offsets you're looking to run will be fine.. As long as you're not running the KW HAS Kit. The Upper perch will rub on the tire if the offsets not 20mm or less

Yup. These will give you that flushed look if you lower the car. If you're gonna stay stock height, I would advise against aggressive width/offset.

Are the offsets I've listed (17, 37) considered aggressive? I'm considering the ACS springs to drop a little but nothing crazy. No track days, just daily commuter/weekend canyon carver.

Everyone has a different opinion depending upon the look they're trying to achieve. If you are going for an absolutely flushed look, then 9.5 ET17 and 11 ET37 will get you there. It's good that you're lowering the car with those widths/offsets though; at stock high it would look funny imo.

The ACS springs have the most conservative drop out of all the aftermarket springs. To some, the ET17 and ET37 might be too aggressive for such a small drop; I think it'll look good though. But again, up to you.

Agreed with everyone above. ET36/37 on the rear will be perfect. Will be aggressive but not too aggressive. Even lowered, you shouldn't rub unless you do like a 305 tire. 285 or 295 and its rub free.
