Koni Yellow vs ST-x kit

I can the koni yellow with HR spring from Tirerack for 744 shipped or I can get t ST-X kit for 775 shipped. I know I will have compression adjustment with Koni yellow but no height adjust and vice-versa with ST-X. Any suggestions. So far what have are M front control arms, whiteline cross member insert installed on my 128i

Depends on what you want. Need more info on your priorities and what you do with the car.

It's my DD, occasional tracking (3-4) times a year. The oem suspension is too soft. It has eibach spring with oem strut and shock. I hate it. It has the right height that i want, I was looking into replacing the strut/shock with Koni yellow, but I found the Koni yellow with HR spring for a great price. But a friend of mine can get me the ST-X coilovers for about the same price. So undecided if I want strut/shock adjustment or height adjustment with preset dampers. I have heard good things about both ST-X and koni yellow. Wanted to get some input on which to get.

Also, I can get the B12 Pro kit for about the same price as the ST-X.

Based on that I'd give the Koni/Swift Spec-R a shot for a while and see what you think. Fairly affordable, adjustable damper, and about a 1" drop with highest spring rates you'll get on the stock style shock assembly. Koni dampers can be had in rear external adjustable too, but more expensive. Internal adjustable has to be removed from the vehicle to turn it. I've had a Bilstein/Swift setup for the last few years and it's been extremely capable.

Get the Koni's with H&R springs. The ST's will be too soft for your liking.

I decided to go with the Koni yellow and HR spring. Will be getting it tomorrow along with the oil pan gasket and new aluminum bolts. It's gonna be a full day of fun on Sunday. I have read to do the oil pan gasket, I will need to drop the subframe to gain clearance to remove the oil pan, this will make it easier to remove the front struts.
