Where did you purchase?
I usually hit my sales guy up at the dealership i made the purchase at. They can usually go to an adviser or tech and ask for them to overlook your mods. owned 3 modded BMW's and this worked for me every time.

I've gone in for oil changes and had things like "Blue racing brake fluid installed in car", "tire rubber marks from apparent track events", "racing brake ducts installed" listed on the service order, when I picked cars up. To the OP, I would suggest building an honest relationship with your dealer, instead of trying to hide things. If they know what you bought the car for, it's not like they are catching you doing something illicit. |

ok got you let me explain, you may think that everything is alright until something does happen to your car and then just then my friend they are going to pull all your service records showing every time you went in there with all the mods... and tell you with a straight face BUDDY you are out of luck !! and we are not fixing anything for you.

Good to know they do this. I wonder how they try linking issues to mods that are completely unrelated. |

The only problem you have with a mod and warranty is if they can prove the mod caused the issue. If you mod a car to make say 100+ HP more than stock and you bust a rod. Why should BMW be on the hook to fix this?

well imo, there is a grey area. you can always try to convince the dealer that the mod didn't cause the problem, but if you have an asshole SA, he will simply tell you too bad.. who really has time to go back and forth with the dealer? f that. just find a good SA who will keep his mouth shut and give him some bread on the side. |
