Xpel or 3M

Any recommendations for 3m style wrap in Ontario? I've heard xpel is best but hoping to hear.from other owners.
I find BMW paint to be very thin amd have already experienced a stine chip from a pebble.

thanks in advance..

I'm doing 3m pro series. There's a bunch of videos on youtube that try to show some of the differences. From what I can tell, 3m pro series looks like it has better stain resistance. Otherwise, they are pretty much the same from my research.

I have had both. I prefer the Xpel. It feels like much higher quality and the seams are significantly less noticeable.

So far the Xpel resists rocks as good or better.

Can someone suggest a reasonable price in Ontario for xpel for front bumper, fender, hood. What about whole car? For a 3/4 series size.

Not entirely sure about prices, but you can check out the following:

Thornhill Tints - they did my tint, great guys, and BMW autohaus uses them for tint and clear bra.
http://www.thornhilltints.com/

Restyleit - Got them to do a simple (minor) wrap, great job. I saw a poster at their office that they also do clear wrap
http://www.restyleitwraps.com/

Sekanskin - Heard great things of these guys. I would image they do clear bra

Yes, Sekanskin did mine and did an excellent job, just call Tiago and tell him Farley sent you!

There is no question I would go with 3M pro series. I had 3M non pro series on my 2013 SG F10 M5. It was very good and I had Opticoat on top. Extremely easy to clean and very resistant. I got rid of my M5 in Sept.

I put the new 3M pro series on my 2016 Black 991 Turbo with CQuartz on top and I can tell you that the pro series is a much better product. I also had chance to compare the Xpel side by side on another car and while it is just as clear, it is not quite a resistant and self healing as the 3M.

My winter car is a F30 335ix and it has the 3M pro series with CQuartz as well and it looks great. I bought this car used and had them do a massive paint correction first.

Either way both Xpel and 3M pro series are great products - I just prefer 3M.

I have had 5 cars done by Marco at Advanced Automotive Film and Kevin from GTA in Detail does the new car prep. They do phenomenal work. I can't say enough about the quality of their work and attention to detail. I am in general extremely meticulous about the paint etc. I would say that Sekanskin is excellent too but side by side, Marco is better at film.

My 2 cents.

Personally when I choose to do my clear bra, I will 100% coat it after. That way the clear bra will be protected by chemical damage as well. (aka CQ Finest, Modesta, Opti-Coat etc)

Either or I think 3M or Xpel are good. From what I know, Xpel Ultimate has a 10 year warranty, a tad thicker but a tad harder to install. 3M is easier to install but warranty doesn't last as long. If your car is a purchase, I'd go with Xpel Ultimate.

3M Pro Series and XPEL Ultimate are the same thickness. Pro series is generally considered harder to install if I am not mistaken. Warranty is 8 years vs 10 years (pro vs XPEL). 3M has sales of $30 billion a year, XPEL was $17 million last year and is being sued by 3M (like Venture shield years ago), and may potentially not exist in 10 years.

Anyhow, I am just talkin'. Ive had both and prefer the 3m pro because it is clearer. Performance (durability, self healing etc) seem very similar.
