do the M Sports seats come with all the usual upholstery choices (ie., cloth combo vs leather)?

I am curious to see reviews of the competition package compared to a non comp M3/4. I also want to hear the difference of this M sports exhaust. Should be interesting

Was hoping for maybe $1,500 less but I guess that's wishful thinking.

still a meaningful price gap between a CP and non-CP M3/4.

Thanks for posting!

It seems we have the cheapest M3/M4 in the world! because the loonie is weak right now.

Yeah the only bummer is the comp package and the m carbon package have some overlapping bits, like the black grills etc. So you end up paying for some stuff twice. But the value in the package is there if you get it all together and order it with the car over buying all these parts OEM from BMW later.

Port install, like the mpe, would be my guess.

If so, expect delays - my car took a month to clear Halifax ostensibly because of the exhaust. I dont think they pre order the parts but instead wait till your car lands first.

How is the MPE? Big improvement over the regular? I wish the Comp Package just came with MPE instead of this middle of the way M Power Exhaust.

Are you sure about that? I specifically asked my dealer if the MPE would be installed at the factory for my ED and he said yes.

Thanks for sharing the info OP.

Sadly though, that is what I expected : for $7900, that Competition Package is a rip off .

I am not due to order until 2017 for a 2018MY, so I hope that the price/packaging of the competition package will be revised for that year. The first year the CP was introduced on the E9X it was also a rip off. But with the revised pricing the following year, it became very good value. I sure hope the same happens on the F8X .

Carbon Package seems to offer decent value though

See page 10 of the Product Bulletin.

I can't speak for ED orders, but I doubt it'd be any different. My understanding is US ED orders are delivered stock at the Welt and any accessories are port installed. I think it's safe to assume the process is similar for us.

I ordered mine with the MPE and it was installed in Halifax in December 2015 eventhough I had ED October 2015. I don't know what they do with the 'extra' exhausts they send back. We put nearly 4,000 kms on the car for our ED trip....

Having said all of that, I am very happy with the MPE over the stock exhaust.

All of my M Performance carbon goodies were dealer installed. (Grills, Gills, spoiler, diffuser, splitters, lip, wheel...)

The way the CAD is headed I can guarantee all the prices are headed up. In fact, if you look at the USD price of $5,500 for the package it's the sane price given the current value of the CAD. So right now the value is not in the Competition Package but in the rest of the car, until they raise that to match the sinking dollar as well.

I see this car as a value right now as I know Porsche will be raising prices in March and it can't be long before every car manufacture follows suit on CAD pricing as the dollar is expected to stay low for some time. Also, MY2016 will be the last year of 4 year inclusive service. Starting in MY2017 there will only be three years and many other wear and tear parts like breaks and pads will no longer be covered. Buy it now or pay more in more ways then one next year.

PS. The Carbon package has been around for a while and likely hasn't gone up in price yet to reflect the sinking dollar. It's just a matter of time.

Well, when the CAD was an parity with the USD, we did not get much of a price drop did we? When I bought my M4 in 2014, I paid a hefty premium compared to a similarly equipped ED US spec car. So I don't think that overall prices will shoot up that much, it would kill BMW Canadian sales. I think it has more to do with how BMW Canada decided to position the pricing of the CP.

If you take the relative value of the CP over an 19" wheel and EDC equipped M4, the CP relative cost is (76000+7900)/(76000+900)-1 = +9.1% in Canada vs (65700+5500)/(65700+1000+1200)-1 = +4.9% in the US. That is ~85% more expensive. The CP becomes a no-go for me.
