P2AFF code to dealer
Brought car in to dealer, er stealer for this code and they said that as per BMW checklist, they are to stop there, there is nothing to further go into.
I had to pay 169, they also checked the turbos and said it was ok. I also had oil leaks on the pan and oil filter housing, so are they easy to replace? Going to go get her and buy some oem gaskets. Will the car pass inspection? will the readiness codes clear? anyone know anything ? seems the P2aff will never clear, thanks cobb. Hmmm? Code was still there after the Access port was unmarried. |

when you say pass inspection are you talking about emissions testing?
Every time you clear your trouble codes it clears the readiness monitors. You will need to drive around for usually about a week until all of the conditions have been met to run/pass all of the monitors. If you clear that p2aff code does it come back right away? If it does is a hard fault issue to hunt down or else you will never pass emissions. At least in Illinois if you have any codes that set the CEL you will not pass emissions. I don't know if you can check the readiness monitors with the AP, but you can use a generic BT connector from amazon and a $5 app to check your readiness monitors on your phone. hopefully you can clear the codes, drive around long enough for the readiness monitors to complete and get it in to be tested before you through the fault code for the fuel pump plausibility.

First off, there was never a CEL condition. I just bought the car a week ago.
I have several diagnostic scanners all that stuff and I use the torque app. My question is will the readiness monitors reset, if I don't clear the 2APFF? Also, according to the clean air act, the dealer was supposed to make sure my car would pass emissions. Hopefully the monitors will reset. |

Check all the monitors on torque and if they are all green with no CEL you should pass.

So you've used the cobb, cleared the Fuel pump plausibility code and it keeps coming back? Does it take time or is does it come back right away?

No I have not cleared it, but all the monitors are showing 'ready' so its all good. Car starts up fine, no HPFP issues yet, will keep all posted as it has 67k currently and all good so far.
