Options to make catless Active Autowerke exhaust QUIETER!
I know! I know! You all want a louder exhaust but I bought an 08 with the full Active Autowerke Cat-less Signature System exhaust and I find it a little too loud and too much of a drone at around 1500-2100rpm or so.
So what are my options in making it a little less loud? I don't think I want to go back to stock completely (that would be *too* quiet) but I'd like to at least get rid of the drone if that's possible! I also have the bpm stage 2 tune so unless I pay for a new tune, I guess I need to stay away from complete OEM exhaust. Thanks in advance! |

Adding HFC can help quiet it down a bit...oem mod rear section will help with the drone and overall loudness. In my case, I had a supercharger and it pushed my drone below 1500 rpm but kept the same overall noise. Other than changing the rear section there isn't too much you can do....assuming you want to keep the xpipe

Did not search for the thread but I tend to recall someone experimenting with quieting the AA and posted successful results. I recall the poster placing an nickel in both of the inner tailpipes. I think that was an experiment to see what affect valves would have.
Search keywords I would try would be AA and nickel |

Does this system have resonators/middle mufflers? If not, add some. They are quite literally designed to remove drone and resonation.
