Coding
Anyone willing to spend an hour or so, showing me how to get started coding, in person? I'm only interested in doing my own car. I've used John at DC Metro for years. Sent him 3 emails, no bueno. Very disappointed since I gave him a STELLAR deal on Dinan Tune/MPE for his wife's 235i. Eh' it is what it is.
Anyhow...... Help me with things like: Laptop to buy (unless I can use MacBook Pro) Cables "Token" if I even have that correct Whatever else New 16' won't be on these shores till June 11(ish)... So plenty of time. Just need to start figuring out things now though. I'll drive to wherever you are... Say, 2 hours from Baltimore in any direction. I'm willing to pay for your time and knowledge. I'd just like to hit the grown running... Like the day I take redelivery. Plus, this would allow me to recode, when updates come out. Thanks any and all. |

I got my cable from http://www.bmcoding.com/enetcable they're sorta pricey (You can find cheaper elsewhere but I'm satisfied with the quality). You can use your MacBook (I am using it on my MacBook Pro) but you'll need to install VMWare Fusion with Windows installed. PM shawnsheridan for the software. You'll want to the download the first two software, the first one is e-sys, the second one will generate the token for you (Don't make the same mistake I did and generate your own token!) If you are interested, I may be meeting up with EALm4 sometimes next weekend or so. I owe him some coding; you can watch me if you'd like. I can show you what I am doing and give you a good start. Cheers!

Alternatively, you can use Bootcamp to partition your hard disk, install Windows and have the option to boot either in MacOS or Windows at startup.

Me five?
I just purchased the necessary cable, but I am hesitant to attempt this on my own. It would be very helpful to watch someone do it in real time. It really sucks that I have to go to such lengths to re-enable the European anti-dazzle headlight feature |

Lol, yah. I'm alright with that. I'm not as good as Mark but if I can do the small things to help. I'm cool with that

Does anyone know of a safe place to hangout on Saturday? Not familiar with meeting zones. Preferably in garage since it'll be raining this weekend.

Won't be in town this weekend, but definitely interested in seeing how this coding thing works. Not afraid to do it, but its nice to get instruction from someone who has done it before jumping into the deep end of the pool without floats on :-)
