Bms Stage One Log And Review

Just wanted to write a quick post about this unit incase you had any doubts. I have to say this is an awesome unit for a guy that wants an easy to install mod with amazing results. I am not a super mechanic and this took me 15 minutes to install. The results are well worth the $379! Its less then $10 for every WHP.

Here is a pic of a Data Log I did of a 4th Gear Pull on a Private Road. with Stage one installed. I know that stock it only peaks about 18 psi of Boost. As you can see I peak 23 and it holds around 21 psi.

Shout out to BMS ! Great reliable product!

I just have the BMS stage 1 and BMS intake. I have not put it on a DYNO, those graphs are simply from the JB logging tool, which is awesome!!!

Great information. I just placed an order for a stage 1; can't wait to receive it. This is by far my favorite M car to date

Boost

The Jb stage 1 does not have access to the Canbus to give you info about all the other parameters

I did this log with the USB connected to the stage 1 unit. It just does not give all the info that the full JB4 gives.

Just installed BMS stage 1 today, here are some observations:
- Right after I started the car after installation I could not engage/adjust any of the engine, steering, transmission, suspension settings. I also tried M1 and M2 button but they also would not engage. I decided to drive and I immediately got chassis malfunction warning which went away right away. After that everything went back to normal operation. Just something to expect for future installers.
- I drove for about 5 miles nice and easy to make sure all systems are good to go. I then jumped on autobahn to do some top speed runs. The car accelerates faster for sure, it gets to limiter noticeably quicker than stock. It feels awesome, so far I'm satisfied with stage 1 results.

Thats interesting. Glad it worked out right away but it is not something installers should expect when getting the JB stage 1

99% of the time it will work without any problems

I guess I'll pick one up myself. What features do we get using the JB software?

the Jb software or cable is not needed with the stage 1
Just get the JB on its own, install it and you are set
You get +4 psi

Visit the vendor section, most of us offer it with free shipping

I thought that was unusual but everything went back to normal after I drove the car about 200 meters. Maybe it was something to do with me disconnecting the battery.

Only thing the USB cable allows you to do is log boost like above and you can lower boost with the USB cable. You can't increase it.

The USB cable is mostly meant for the JB4 where you have access to a lot more feature.

Since stage 1 increases boost by a constant 4 psi, there is not much you can see from the log ... your boost will be stock boost + 4 psi on all RPM range
