Hit a parking block and damaged front lip and bumper what to do?

I was in a rush to get to class and hurried into a parking space completely forgetting about the parking curb/block.

Assessed the damage and my heart sank. Two cracks on the carbon fiber lip, the edges on the splitter push onto the paint and the grill leaving nail sized dents. The worst part is that both the screws on the middle of the lip holding it in place got ripped off and there's two nasty holes. The screws are loose now . I went to an auto body repair shop today and was quoted roughly $1680 to replace the entire bumper

It sucks because its on the bottom of the bumper and the only real damage is a couple of scratches and these two holes

The carbon fiber parts are all m performance and were put on after I got the car. Do m performance parts come with warranty?

Any advice on what I should do about this?

EDIT: Big shout out to Adam and Tony of AGC Collision over at Sunset Blvd! Just got my m4 back and everything looks flawless as if nothing ever happened. They're really cool guys and easy going. If you ever need body work done in the LA area, hit em up.

What part of carelessly driving into something would be covered by a warranty?

Yeah definitely not covered by warranty in this case, but it looks like the lip took the brunt of it. I highly doubt you need the entire bumper replaced. You might have better luck taking it to a shop that specializes in BMW parts. Lucky for you, you are in SoCal where you have a big selection of tuner shops to choose from. You may just need to cover the cost of a replacement lip with labor and maybe a little touch up of the scratches to the actual bumper. Good luck!

EDIT: Since you had the parts added at the dealer, you can also go with the standard matte lip to save some money. I am sure the CF is at least twice as expensive.

thanks man. my only concern is the two holes drilled for the lip pretty much expanded when the screws got ripped off. i think thats why i was quoted for a new bumper? I don't see any other way to put on another lip without drilling new holes elsewhere.

I wouldn't worry about the screw holes. There are other ways of repairing that damage. Heck depending on how OCD you are, an alternate fastener type might be in order. A shop that specializes in custom builds should be able make it look as good as new without needing to replace the entire bumper. This is assuming there isn't other damage your pics don't show.

Sorry to hear. Doesn't look too bad and I think it can be salvaged.

It should be able to be salvaged.

That is actually one of the reasons why having CF front lip is a bad idea. You will scratch and hit something eventually it's pretty inevitable. Sadly they won't cover this for warranty.

Try to contact supremepower and ask, they should be able to help. And if you still want to hear my Remus Exhaust I can get there too

Edit: Also this is why I back up into all of my parking spaces now, especially since I lowered on HAS.

Yep, reversing in just makes life easier. Especially with the reverse and top view cameras.

Update :

Got back from the body shop on thursday and was told other than the scratches/holes on the bottom, there's nothing wrong with the bumper.

Silly question. Where did you get your lip? is that factory M performance or aftermarket?

That's what I thought as well. I searched and came up with nothing for a BMW Carbon fiber lip. Based on the evidence provided by the OP with the link to IND, I'd say that both of learned something new today!

found this too:

Man, where was I when this was announced?
