ED for first week of July

I am planing to spend month of July in Europe, please advice when I should place ED order for M3 in order to pick up from Munich during first week of July. Is that really possible to estimate pick up day with 5 days range?

You need to contact a dealer now. M3 allocations can be tight and that factors into ED. Once you have a dealer with an allocation then I would order ASAP. 90 days in advance is usually a good rule of thumb. Yes you can get a 5 day window as long as the car is done in time. You pick 3 dates in order of preference and usually you get one of them.

Are you thinking a 2016 or 2017?

First of all I want to make sure I can pick up car during first week July and drive for a month in Europe, however if due to limited number of 2016 allocations I would not be able to get good ED deal then I can consider 2017 for pick up during last week of July (hope still possible) - in that case I ll be looking for best possible deal.

Sounds like a fun month. I'm in queue for a 2017, no one has production dates yet so it's a waiting game for me until probably end of May / early June once the details are announced. I am also hoping for an end of July 2017 ED.

You should be able to find a 2016 allocation for that window but you need to move on it asap.

Good luck

Be careful to base you price quote on 2016 because BMW will chnage MF for 2017 and most likly your payment will be higher the you will be expecting. I was in that situation with my ED in 2013. Payment went up almost $100 comapre to initial qoute from dealer. That is why I learn my lesson and will be calling dozen of dealer ASAP to find 2016 allocation.

2017 for the end of July is a very tight window and I agree the initial lease rates may not be friendly. I would look for a deal on a 2016 instead.

Lerpal I sent you a PM to give you some possible paths on an allocation. I have first week of July ED on a '16 F80, but if you want to get it early in July you need to act now.

If you don't have a dealer with a ready allocation now, you can also place an order and push them... the May allocations may yield a June build with a July delivery, but you will want that order already in the system. If you go this route, make sure you pick a high volume dealer with some clout.

You can place an order for ED as early as five months in advance. As other have said, the key will be getting an allocation. For first week of July, your best bet is MY16. If memory serves (others can chime in), MY17 is not usually available until a bit later.

In terms of a one month ED, you will need to purchase additional insurance through the program. You are provided 14 days of insurance. You will need to purchase one month of insurance (you can only purchase in monthly increments, no less).

If you have good CA that is familiar with the program, he or she can walk you though it with no problems whatsoever. I have an excellent CA, and I am anal about staying on top of everything. He was able to guide me through my purchase seamlessly. As you go through the process, you will pick up on the way it is managed from your CA, to the 800# and website, to BMW Genius. The forum here is also an excellent source of information and really provided a lot of information so I could plan my entire trip with ease.

Good luck!
