Paint protection question
Has anyone installed clear paint protection on your car from Suntek, 3M or other brands?
What product is the best to use? Any recommended installers in the GTA? |

Probably not much help since I'm in BC. Xpel film is great and it self heals from minor scratches and swirls.
I've had it on my car since day one and it saved my butt on many occasions. The paint on these Ms are fragile. Do the full hood to avoid unsightly film lines. |

I've got 3m. Did mine at autolinks and I'm happy with the result. John and crew are good guys. |

i had Protex (Richard) to do it for me @ Milton: 905-699-6811, its close to Toronto Premium Outlet. i am very happy on the outcome. 2nd choice would be Marco @ Advance Automative Films, abit more pricey but precision job. quick reference: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1005135 |

I went with Xpel on the whole front clip, A pillars, mirrors, headlights, roof, and luggage loading area. You can't even tell/feel it's there. I absolutely love it.
Before I got it installed I was asking the same questions on this forum you are and the resounding recommendation was Xpel. There are a lot of thread on this, try a search and you should find what you are looking for. Good luck!

I had 3M/Ventureshield on my E90 M3, and would avoid it at all costs. It looked great for ~6 mos, then started hazing pretty badly and couldn't be corrected. The shop replaced it all at no cost, but then 6 mos later the same thing happened.
Xpel seems to be a much better product, but I haven't used it personally.

i wrap my hood and CF roof for $800.00... *i am regret i have not wrapped the front bumper due to budget constraint, as i got 2 stone chips now * the reason i wrap my roof is because i dont want to see tons of swirl as time goes by... i maybe the only weirdo among the rest of us lol... as i asked many f8x owners, they dont wrap the roof top. i also wrap my rear CF spoiler and the front CF splitter... but performed the job at other local shop. hope it helps. |
