BMW Welt
Plan to visit the welt (but don't take delivery of a car).
I wonder how much time should I plan to spend in the welt. Half a day? Im not sure how big it is or how many stuff they have, |

You could probably spend a few hours if you really check out all of the displays and the shop. The museum across the street is a must see in my opinion. That's a half day itself easily.

If you are not taking delivery of a car, you could easily still spend a day at the Welt. A couple hours looking around the Welt, a coupe hours across the street at the museum, and the factory tour is 2 hours. Amidst all that you will want to grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants; Bavarie is pretty good.
Be sure to check with the Welt ahead of time. The factory tour is only offered in English at 11:45 (M-F) and I believe the museum is closed on Mondays.

At least 2-3 hours at the museum, then you will get hungry, so add another hour for lunch. So 1/2 day for the museum. Welt is just a ginormous dealership, where all sorts of swag is sold, but not the cars. You can climb all over most bikes, bimmers, and Mini's, but only observe RR from outside. It's sort of fun because of the sheer size of the place, and there is a stunt bike rider doing tricks up/down stairs and across the floors a few times a day. But if it wasn't for the ED pickup, I would have been out of the Welt in about 1 hour, 2 at most. If you are doing ED, you get access access to the ED lounge with food and drinks (beer, etc) for free. That may very well be a good reason to visit Welt a frequently, and for longer ;-) Then there is the nearby Munich factory tour, which you need to reserve weeks in advance. It is very cool, at will take ~3 hours. If you do all of the above, you can easily burn 1 full day in and around Welt+Museum+Factory. And then come back the next day for free lunch. a

I went there the day before, and the day after delivery. You may get softly challenged at the ground floor by the bouncer guarding the elevator, and then by the front-office check-in attendants. If you look like you know what you are doing, both will wave you buy when you tell him you are picking up your car. No further elaboration was required in my case. a

Based on all the ED thread I've read preparing for my own (thanks!!) I'm planning on a full day. We check in at 8, delivery at 9:10, tour at 11:45, museum after that. And browsing, eating and drinking in between! Having never been to the Welt and driving BMWs since 1999, I'm REALLY looking forward to it. I could probably spend even more time there, but there is driving to be done (and my family to amuse!).

If I'm honest without picking up a car the welt is an hour tops, museum a couple of hours and the tour took about 3 if I remember. Easily could do it all in one day or less. I wish they offered a one hour version of the factory tour. My guide was painfully slow and the tour took twice as long as it could have without sacrificing any quality.

For me, the Welt is mainly to see cars (but you cant go inside of them) - which you can see at a dealer. The museum, on the other hand, you could spend several hours there. The Welt has a place to eat, and a shop to buy stuff
