Competition Package Price Drop for Canada

This is just a note to let anyone who may have ordered or is considering ordering the Competition Package for MY2016 that there has been a price drop from $7,900 to $6,500. Please make sure your dealer passes these savings on to you.

My guess is it was priced so high they were not getting enough orders. Probably also to reflect the higher value of the Canadian Dollar then when the package was introduced. Either way it's a win if you ordered or are considering ordering the CP. It is well worth $6,500 plus any negotiated discount!

Thanks for the update, my CA was telling me that orders with CP are far a few between. I can see why they have dropped the price.
I want adaptive suspension so even if you factor that in the rest of the comp pack is esentailly $5600.

To me personally I still don't see the value add in it

for this update.

I was expecting this to come. At $7900, we were getting ripped off. Especially considering that we were already getting the 19" 437M standard and that EDC is less expensive in Canada vs the US. At $6500, it makes much more sense. Still pricey, but more decent.

Would you by any chance have evidence of this price change ?

I don't think the CP is even on the BMW Canada website at all? I didn't see it a couple of days ago when I tried to Build & Price.

Can anyone confirm (with proof) that the CP price indeed dropped to $6500 ?

so the package includes the ajustable suspension that cost 1000$.

so if the package is 6500 assuming you would have taken the suspension, net cost is 5500.

For that you get:

20 inch wheels
Wider rubber up front and in the back
+ 19 hp
Better calibrated suspension
Beter calibrated diff.
cooler seats
cool seatbelts
black grills and side marker (I paid 640$ isalled for those)
black exhaust tips.
sport exhaust with burble

I think that is a good value

At $6500 it is indeed a much better value proposition than it is at $7900. I thought we were really getting screwed in Canada at $7900 compared to the US, especially considering we are already getting the 19" 437M standard (the 437M are a $1000USD/$1300CAD option in the US) and that our EDC is only $900 (EDC is $1000USD/$1300CAD in the states).

But even at $6500 it is rather pricey compared to the later E9X CP. On later E9X, the CP was $2900, which included 19" wheels (19" wheels were a $2000 option) and EDC (was a $2000 option). So on the E9X, you actually had a $4000 value for $2900 plus wider (some also say better looking) wheels, dynamic EDC in Sport mode (base car was static in Sport), recalibrated MDM, revised and lowered suspension. That was VALUE for the customer!

At $7900 I was rely debating getting it. At $6500, I am considering it more but not yet 100% sure. It will depend if BMW eventually offer upgrade packages such as the PPK for the F8X.

I just want the burbles to be honest.

and the power

and the cool seat belts

and better traction

holes in the seats ... that's cool I want that also.

Black exhaust tips would look good too.

Better stance too with the wider rubber... I want that also...so...

Yeah, I want that package.

Or a Dinan Signature Package. That'll be with real power and height adjustable suspension.
