no big mods..only let take out the rev limiter...reprogramming probably brought some 6-8 bhp.... unmodified cars without rev limiter will run real 300-305 km/h according to some insiders at m-gmbh

Wait, let me understand/calrify. You have obtained 330 km/h indicated in your E92 M3? The actual speed was 305 km/h. This actual was via GPS or some other method of measurement? Thanks,

I very much doubt the new M3 will reach 330Km/h indicated (true 305km/h), it only an M3 for pete's sake, not an F'ing Ferrari. I would have thought if one was capable of this then some German magazine would have reported it, but as of yet none have.
I reckon it's a very optimistic speedo. |

Rev limiter !!
Or you mean speed limiter and rev limiter ? Is it safe to remove the rev limiter ? I will remove the speed limiter on my car but somebody advised me not to remove the rev limiter.

My simulations (posted much on this on the past) for top speed for the 6MT M3 gives 180 mph even (290 km/h). I think my upper limit estimate for how fast the car will go is 185 mph (298 km/h). 330 km/h with a full 8% over error (not very likely in a BMW I think, maybe 4-5%) is still 306 km/h or 190 mph. I do not think a totally stock M3 (which this isn't!) will get to 190 mph.

-I mentioned simulation results (you did not) -I provided my upper limit guess as a number (you did not) -I clarified the non-stock issue (you did not) -We did not even have the same conclusion. I do not think it is a case of a optimistic speedo ONLY, the car has been modded AND it and it has an optimisitc speedo Footie, footie, in the (this) technically heavy world of cars the devil is in the details. |

You can't go that fast and expect not to hear HELLA wind noise!
solution: slow down.

I know for a fact the 996tt with 420bhp can and do reach a true 300kph with near identical Cd as the E92 M3. So unless the M3 is restricted by its gear ratio, I think 300kph without the speed limiter is quite possible. No? |

This video has been posted already here, but is relevant to this thread.
