Looks awesome! I love black cars when they are clean and shiny. I stick with grey, because I can push the envelope of cleanings a bit further. You've given me motive to go work on mine this weekend!

Thanks all!
I couldn't wait to go back to black. My '13 was Space Grey. It always looked clean but I got Black Envy every time I saw one in Black. Now that I'm back in black I'm already contemplating colors for '19. I have never gone to the automatic car wash and still I had crazy swirls. They're all gone and it looks like a black sheet of glass, for now. I feel like Flo from the Progressive commercial, watching the birds overhead. |

I've had a lot of black cars, and I got my detailer to do paint correction and ceramic coating. He does the maintenance washes, and in between his washes I take them to a touchless car wash, which is surprisingly efficient with the ceramic coating. Doing this I can keep them clean and completely swirl free year round.

I'm currently on my third black car, but first metallic black. I must say it's a joy keeping it clean compared to non-metallic black. My previous X5 was white and it drove me bonkers. BSM is a joy compared to AW. I polish my vehicles when I acquire them, and then keep them looking good with either Swissvax waxes or Menzerna Power Lock. If you wash and dry your vehicles with high quality materials, you should never have to polish them again.

My BSM doesn't look dirty at all, even a week after I wash (bar any rain, of course)... |

As stated previously proper washing and drying techniques go a long way. Not touching it when it's dirty goes a long way. Not letting people touch it goes a long way. Basically don't touch my black car! My kids are afraid lol.
