Paddle shift? I'm not familiar enough with SMG to know if they came that way for all years or not.

Yes, all SMGs came with paddles. You're not even warm yet. Look in the background a bit... its just a cosmetic mod.

Noticed as soon as I saw this thread...

You're just modding LED's so you have a Christmas tree as a shifter.

Putting a shift knob of some sort in... at least that is what it looks like in the background.

btw, I think I have a great DIY to go along with this. Make the paddles light up the (- & +) and night.

Not sure what you're getting at. The paddles do not have any lights, and I don't think I would want any there, they're in the forward looking line of sight, it could be a distraction.

If you mean the +/- of the knob activated when the paddles are pulled, you can't do that since there are only 3 zone LEDs inside the knob, 1 for R, 1 for N, and 1 for the whole D/S +/- mess.

Is that what the shifter on the M5 looks like? It looks pretty cool. Almost retro-looking though. Seems like a design from the 60s or 70s. Nice!

There's no lights on ours! Plus, both pedals up or downshift, so concept doesn't really apply.
