Pure Turbo upgrade reliability/reviews?
Hi Guys,
A few of us here in the UK will be looking to get some of these fitted on to our M3/4s. From what I understand we will need the upgraded turbos + upgraded clutches (will be going with dodson). We are all DCT. We will be going for high flow which seem to be around 600whp Few questions for people who have done this and those who have ran these upgraded for some time now.. 1) At the moment I am tuned to around 530hp (GAD remap) and car feels good and strong. Have had no issues at all in the 5 months i have had the map. Will this change with the turbos? Have you guys experiences niggles and issues with running significantly more power? 2) Will the gearbox be fine? I have heard it will have no issues and the only necessary upgrade is the clutches. Thanks for any info! |

I'll get a few of my customers to chime in here as we've sold a few of the S55 PURE Turbo upgrades.
I guess the other question I would have is what power level are you looking to extract out of the turbos? |

1) Your current tune should work great with the turbos. Our turbos work great and make and extra 40-50whp on the stock tune only with the turbos simply bolted on, no other changes. However, your current tune will probably taper boost down at higher rpm, tuned for stock turbos. So it won't take advantage of the full power to redline the Pure turbos have available. So, re-tune to take full advantage of what the turbos have to offer. 2) 6MT is strong. Ours will only slip slightly at extreme torque levels, 700wtq. The DCT will need Dodson upgraded clutch packs for around 600wtq and above. We offer the Dodson DCT installs. It usually runs around ~$3500 for the complete job. Parts, clutches, labor, adaption reset, etc. Let us know if you have more questions. Thanks |

I'm on stock DME tune, stock DCT tune, running downpipes, intakes, stage 2 turbos, exhaust, and jb4 on map 5. I pulled 5 cars on a bone stock manual C7 Z06 from 70-140mph. Just buy the damn things. They're more than worth it.

I pulled on a C7 Z06 the other day in my ZCP on map 7/E32. It is certainly possible.

We have had this on the shop car for over 8000 miles.
Current Mods: Pure Titanium turbos Dodson clutch upgrade Fuel It Port injection JB4 with DME Tuning back end flash The car runs strong. Pulls like crazy. We haven't had any issue at all. Only thing we need to do it redyno the car again. Hands down the best upgrade on the market. Jesse and the guys at Pure are great guys. They answer any questions you have and have great customer service. No crank hub issues at all. When we dyno again...well over 700whp |

Just installed Pure Turbos and it took us about 9 hours or so. Really wasn't a bad install. The car is honestly transformed now. Boost comes in a tad later but hits unbelievably hard and then pulls forever, yet it is just as docile as stock around town. Really a great mod. Kudos to Pure Turbos for an awesome product.

I'm running the Fast Spool Pure Turbos. I've been running them for the past 3K miles. I'm on a conservative Eurocharged tune (91 octane) the car feels and performs better than I imagined.
Plenty of 60-120 pulls and 1/4 mile passes, and they are holding up just fine. Great mod, you'll not regret the upgrade. |
