Another new owner thread?!
I just read another member's thread where he found his E90 6MT zcp slicktop and was inspired by it as I recently bought an M3 that was for sale on this very forum 2 weeks ago today It is my 4th BMW.
I am coming from a 135i which has 1 benefit over the M3 as most know - straight line speed. After hitting nearly 500 whp on the 135i I quickly found I was never utilizing all that power on the street (at least not legally). I started losing appeal for straight line speed when I got serious about tracking cars and eventually picked up my E30. On top of that, I quit my downtown job and started my own thing and now I work from home and live in an area where it's easy to get to windy backroads. So most of my driving now consists of going to C&C, local BMW meets, or cruises with friends. For those types of things, I decided I really wanted the NA V8 experience of the E92 M3. I came across a 2011 zcp here on the forums a few weeks ago with absolutely every option I would have wanted - melbourne red, 6mt, CF roof, extended leather, zcp, EPS, totally stock, 1 owner. Some of you may have seen the listing. I made a snap decision to call the owner and buy it. A week later I flew from WI to VA and drove it 1000 miles back. It was 5x nicer in person than online, which basically never happens in used car shopping. I'm quite sure you could buff it and legitimately put it on a showroom floor. This example does have 50k miles on it so I purchased a warranty through my credit union because a friend of mine has an E92 M3 and he has the same warranty and they have paid over $10k in claims now no questions asked. So I'm covered for the next 4 years at least. In related news, I sold the 135i to a friend here locally so I still see the car which is nice because I really do love the 135i There are no big mod plans for this car. Some form of exhaust mod will happen but likely it will be a form of the OEM mod with some EAS 80mm tips. I have already put in LUX led, painted reflectors, BMS clutch stop, and black chrome kidneys. Not much beyond that will be done to the car. The E30 is my dedicated track car, however, it is likely that I will take the E92 to Road America one time next year just so I can learn more about where the limits on this particular car are on street tires. Finally, driving impressions now that I have put about 2500 miles on the car because I can't stop driving it amazing vehicle inside and out. Honestly everything in this car is a cut above what the 135i was. The powerband is so linear and predictable just like my S50 and the car is composed in all driving conditions dry and wet (it will never ever see snow). The sound speaks for itself although it begs to be just a tad louder. All in all could not be happier with the choice to move away from boost and into the high revving NA V8. Pics getting the car and a funny road sign on the trip back: Finally home! Pics after installing some light aesthetic modifications: Sending off my 135i to a new home

Very clean M3 and 135i. I too came from a nearly FBO 135i 6MT (a very fun car), but wouldn't go back for any reason.

Thanks Unfortunately I went full-retard on the 135i and also installed Pure stage 2 turbo and everything to support it, plus an LSD, so quite honestly I lost my ass on the sale of that car considering what I had into it. Luckily I did all the work myself so it was just parts and my time

Very nice purchase. The M looks to be in great shape, as does your old 1. I hope the new car treats you well and that you have some fun with it. I've my car for about a year and half and still love driving it. It's been a very solid car for me so far.

Absolutely gorgeous E92! What colour is the interior? I hope it's FR, that would solidify your love for red cars lol
