Launching with/without CDV
Just ordered the replacement CDV from Zeckhausen Racing... I've had my car for a bit over 7 months now and have gotten pretty comfortable with the CDV, but I thought I'd give it a shot to see how it feels.
I was curious how the CDV affects proper launching. Anyone have before/after experiences? |

It should allow the clutch to engage faster...so it should help.

i got used to the CDV but then got the modified one. There isnt a HUGE difference but it is noticable. I drive pretty much the same from when i had the stock CDV (When i shift i let the clutch out untill engagement then hold it there untill the clutch engages then let foot of pedal). Its just more comfortable. Heel toeing and rev matching are much easier/exciting. With the modified one there still is a little bit of delay but not as much to bother me. Get the modified one. Im happy with it

VoiD, Rosspbig, Hawkeye -- haha, I am in the same position.
My main reason was to try it to see if it makes rev matching/launching easier. I am a little worried that my relative inexperience with driving stick (this being my first MT car) will cause n00b problems that the CDV is designed to mitigate. Hopefully I don't waffle and let that CDV sit in a drawer for a few months... Will post results hopefully in a couple of weeks. |
