Mileage is always going to differ between cars. I've always been good at getting mileage out of cars. Most people shift at too low RPM and that makes their mileage suffer.

I once babied an entire tank and got 25mpg. This was mostly 60mph country driving.

This is my favorite iteration of this gen M3, I just wish they did not have the red hood intakes. Looks way out of place.

I think the pinstriping detail is quite sublte whilst letting people know it's a special car...

Nice. I'd much rather have this than a Lime Rock or any other limited edition e9x.

Something about them E90s!

Is it possible to purchase any parts from this model from BMW, whatsoever?

I would think that shifting at too high an rpm would be the cause of decreased gas mileage. No?

Obviously holding a gear at 7000 RPM from stoplight to stoplight is detrimental for efficiency, but shifting at too low of an RPM also doesn't help efficiency because the engine would be out of the "optimal" torque band and the driver compensates with more throttle.
There are "optimal" shift points for efficiency where the engine has a comfortable amount of torque for acceleration with minimal throttle input.

This car costs significantly more than a Lime Rock. The Lime Rock is just a bunch of bolt on accessories added to an otherwise stock car. The CRT is seriously different than a regular M3. It also costs $150k.
