What defects to look for when buying 08 models?
I'm thinking about purchasing an 08 M3 sedan from local dealer. What should I looking for besides the car being able to shift without grinding at high rpms, scratches under the front bumper and the clutch and brakes?

I second this, and don't let them try to tell you any odd sounds will go away once the car is warmed up. Make sure you look everything over thoroughly before pulling the trigger.

Being a E90, check the backs of front seats, rear seats and rear door jambs for signs of children. Kid wear found on an M3 is blasphemous, raises doubt the owner truly cared for the vehicle and makes me personally desire they buy a Prius next time...
Oh, also find out if throttle actuators, brakes, transmission seals, rod bearings, etc have been replaced. If not, consider them in your budget/negotiations. |

Dude...seriously? I DD my M3, have 2 car seats in the back (with seat protectors) for my now 8 and 10 year old, and I love and care for my car better than my family. My son has known the difference between velocity and acceleration since he could talk (and tell mommy that daddy was going fast). I purposely bought an E90 so that I could transport my kids. I would think that putting full sized adults in back would be worse than kids. And...I would never drive a fucking Prius.
