Thinking about GTS tire sizes, what is the benefit?

In general when going to wider tires for the same chassis/weight of car you make the contact patch become wider which will improve cornering ability but potentially reduce grip in a straight line (very complicated topic and lots of variables). Suspension tuning is often needed to make the most of having wider tires.

They do look cool though.

Will the sidewall look better than stock 19's or make it smaller?

The GTS rear diameter is 1/2" smaller than a 265/35/19 so it's going to be a firmer ride for sure.

Will the sidewall look more "manly" meaning more bulger even if it is less taller?

The side walls should look the same? But looking at it from the front & back of the car, will give it a more aggressive look and stance

I went with the 285/35/19 in the rear rather than the GTS 285/30/19. It looks good and a collateral benefit was correcting most of the speedometer error.

with 285/35/19 aren't you too tall in the rear and throwing off DSC also resulting in more load on the front brakes ?

No.

The OEM Pirellis were - Front: 245/35/19 - diameter 25.9 in. Rear: 265/35/19 - Diameter 26.3 in. Difference 0.40 inch.

My current setup is Front: 255/35/19 - Diameter 26.2 in. Rear: 285/35/19 - Diameter 26.9 in. Subsequently, max difference is 0.70 of an inch. Tread depth variation can be 0.3125 in.

Had I gone with the GTS rear 285/30/19s with a diameter of 25.7 inches, the rear tires would be 0.50 inch smaller than the fronts, so my net difference from the GTS setup is 0.20 inch.

Do you not get any rubbing with this setup?

Oh nice! Definitely a good way to avoid tripping the dsc with the gts sized 30 profile tires
