Nice! In Michigan, it's a good bet to have snow tires. I purchased snow tires for the first time for my M3 since it's my daily now. Got the Pirelli Sottozero series II.

Yeah, my main winter DD is a S2000 (pre-traction control) with winter tires as well, but I figure on the less snowy, no salt periods I'll have the M3 out. S2000 can handle a bit more snow (ground clearance) than the M3 I'm guessing, but neither are high clearance sleds.
Pulling out of the neighborhood and having the traction control engage was a nice treat, It's "all natural" in the S2000.

Driving an S2K in the snow, now that is awesome!
I finally put my snows on yesterday. I was initially going to wait until Wednesday as after that the temps are constantly below freezing. Good thing too, as we got hit with an inch of snow last night! Poor thing looks so boring now Can't wait for Spring already...

Smart man. I put my winter set on 220 OEMs with Blizzaks this past weekend.
Next week we have the first forecast of snow and highs of 30, so I safely changed them on a 50 degree day. |

Yeah, hoping we don't have any warm stretches, so I can avoid the swap back and forth. Feels weird hoping it DOESN'T warm up!

I know they will probably wear more, but in the end you will be happy not switching every few days. When I take them off I clean them for storage. if you are like me you will be washing wheels every few days. |

In southern NH we got our first snow yesterday. I had put the snow wheels on my turbo E36M3 but not the E90M3 so I had one car ready. I try to wait as long as possible. But supposedly more snow coming overnight so I put the snow wheels on the E90 this morning. I use 255/235 dunlop snows on stock 18s. I find they handle adequately on dry roads and leave them on until mid March.
