missing Left rear pad wear sensor

I was under the car doing a brake flush last night and noticed the left rear is totally missing a pad wear sensor. Also the rubber boot cover which holds the sensor wire on the brake bleeder is ripped off. I'm guessing some kind of road debris took the sensor or do these cars not include one there Wouldn't this throw an alarm with the sensor gone? I'll have to go back and dig around to see if the connector is even there.
