Venting...just like everyone else

Just got off the phone with the motorcycle shop. Apparently I have a cracked valve cover and I'm leaking oil into the spark plugs...thus grounding them out. Apparently this only cracks when put on wrong or the bike is in a bad accident. I bought it with a clean title but I am starting to wonder... I have never even dropped it.

So, on top of the price I paid for it last year, and the 7 bills in service already, I am looking at another $600 plus (tech said there most likely were more underlying problems).

I am going to have a nice long talk with the guy that sold me the bike tonight. :finger:

Bike's now yours. As far as the previous owner is concerned, you broke it.
This stuff happens. For my Z4, found quite a bit of problems, but luckily I had warranty to iron everything out. My previous TT however was a real nightmare and it completely broke my spirits when trying to fix it up. So I just got rid of it instead. At least that's how I ended up with the Z4.

You can sell the bike, and with the money you saved from not buying the M, you can buy a new bike!

1- I don't give a crap about the head of a bike...this is a Z forum

2- Isn't there a sub forum called "Off Topic Discussions"?

Not having a bad day, but this kinda of crap is what's killing this board

The only thing that kills this board is poor attitudes. Go look in the mirror.

If you don't like off topic discussions, you can pretty much figure it out from the title, so don't read it. If I don't care about a certain topic...I stop reading and go about my day...try it out sometime.

Thats a lot of money in repairs on a bike. That would have been a nice down payment on a new KAWK.

I forgot. The guy that sold me the bike is my cousin's fiance. Hopefully I can talk him into footing some of the responsibility since this problem doesn't just 'pop up' on a motorcycle, he should have known about it.

Sorry Big Leo, I would post in the 'Off Topic' forum but I am not looking for people egging me on to beat him up for being shady (which is usually what people get there from the e90 members)

When i clicking this thread i thought he had something to vent about his Z4. I would love to help you out but i have no knowledge of bikes.

I'd say get the bike serviced and dump it. Its now over a decade old, its carbed, with not so recent technology. You can get some smokin' deals on '07 stock if any dealership has any left.

I've had the same experiences with these old beat up used bikes, and I dont think I'll buy another one for any reason, other then for a track only bike.

But yeah, take a new or (much) newer 600 or 1000 out and you'll be amazed at the difference. I had a ZX7R myself (but mine was a few years older), and after hoping on my buddies '06 R6, I was absolutely amazed... that 600 would eat my old 750 for breakfast. It was amazing.
