TPMS DIY Install
Hey Guys,
I purchased new wheels and purchase the TPMS to install. Is there instructions how to install these to the wheel. How you install the valve stem into the TPMS? Thanks |

If you are going to take it to the dealer to get mounted and balanced just have them put it in. If not post pics of the DIY

Actually I just took the TPMS off an existing set of wheels and it's just attached with a tiny torx head screw to the end of the valve stem. Once you attach the valve stem you basically just fasten the TPMS to the back of it on the inside (there's a small hole).
But yeah, since you can't mount the tires yourself anyway, just have it done at the shop... |

Agreed. I didn't think of installing it on a bare wheel. That you can do, but of course the tires will still need to be mounted. I just take all this kind of stuff to the shop that I use for tires... they cover it gratis as a part of doing tire services.

I had it done yesterday when I put on my CSLs - $20/wheel to unmount the tire, install the TPMS, and remount the tire. Would have been more to remove them from my stock wheels, but I want to use them for winter so I bought a 2nd set of sensors. Only 2 more mods to go (aero skirts - next week) and 3.91 diff (next YEAR).

Just another note on this. The tire mount machines at your tire shop must be able to clear the TPMS sensors on the inside edge of the rim. A buddy of mine took some wheels into a corner shop to install winter tires he got online and the machine destroyed a TMPS sensor while seperating the first tire from the wheel I guess the tire tech didn't notice and since the wheel were on their own (did not take them off the car), he didn't know they came off a recent Lexus. They paid the to replace the one sensor.
