Anybody take delivery of a '17 35d yet?
Last week I ordered a new 35d to replace my 2014 model, which is the best family vehicle I've ever owned or leased. The lease was up and they made me a pull through offer I couldn't resist. I'm scheduled for Performance Center delivery on 3/27.
I'm curious, does anyone have any first hand experience comparing the 2014 and 2017 35d? I'd be interested in hearing if there are any significant differences. Usually running updates are subtle but noticeable.

For starters, you will have a performance upgrade from your 2014 X5 since in 2015 there was a increase performance bump in the 0-60 times

Yeah. I thought they were bringing a new diesel engine this year like they did with the gas versions, but there's so little info on the 2017 model. Does anyone know if it's just a carryover or is it a new motor? (I guess I'll find out soon enough.)

You will still have the N57 diesel. As far as I know the new gasser will not be in tne 2017 X5, but will appear in the expected 2018 LCI/mid-cycle refresh. '17 X5s will still have the N55 gasser.

There is no LCI for the F15. It will be a completely new model.

Thanks for the info. I figured it was still the N57, but I had heard conflicting reports. I don't mind- it's a great engine. I know there's no LCI on the F15 because they're bringing a new architecture that will be the basis of the new X5 and X7. I'm guessing they'll arrive sometime in '18 as '19 models.

Yeah I guess it'll be the G05 or something? Regardless, no B58 until then. Has anyone heard whether it's a 100% new chassis or a modification of the F15 platform? If not it'll be more like what every other company calls a MCR.
The B58 is a mixed blessing. Better motor overall, but less opportunity for tuning. Edit: Looks like it's on the CLAR platform that underpins the new 5er. I'm willing to bet it goes the way of the Q7 and looks more and more like a big wagon. Last edited by lowlevelhell; 02-25-2017 at 07:56 AM.. |
