All I can say is beautiful
Congratulations on the new arrival and wishing you many happy miles of motoring.
Still waiting for mine to arrive, somewhere across the Atlantic
Be very interested in your feedback on the car once you have a few days behind you of driving.

Looks fantastic

Lucky beggar getting it on the 1st March! Mine's been order since September and they still couldn't get it delivered for the first of the month. Like many others, still on a boat somewhere across the Atlantic.

Enjoy and please give some initial thoughts once you've had it a few days.

Since September.....that's ridiculous....you should have been looking at delivery before xmas, let alone by March!!

What dealer did you order through?

I suppose I could have had it earlier, but I specifically wanted it post 1 March for the new registration and for financial reasons. However, still a bit of a cock-up by the dealer (Vines Guildford) and/or BMW UK to not get it for 1 March.

Without wishing to steal the thread, have you had any more detail on your delivery date? Over the past three weeks, mine has changed from w/b 27th Feb, 6th March and now 13th March (all still under code 9000) and I wonder whether they truly have any clue whether it is on a ship or not

Lovely motor - enjoy it!

Now get it detailed (in hand I understand!) - when it's in for detailing let me know and I'll come say hello.

Re. delivery dates - when mine was en-route it was showing 'departed plant' for 3 weeks, then suddenly I had a call to say it showed up at the dealer. I'm not sure the Americans are too good at updating their computer systems

Yep, mines gone back a week, and has been showing as expected arrival at dealers on March 7th now for a week.

Yes, this is common with X5's coming to UK. My dealer told exactly this last week, very often system shows Status 9000 for weeks, and then just changes to despatched to dealership the day before, or often a few hours after its already arrived at the dealers

And in fairness to our cousins across the pond, its got nothing to do with them, as they have no imput into the system once its departed the plant and gone to code 9000.
Once it arrives at Bremerhaven for EU processing, its in the hands of the Germans, and then BMW-GB once it arrives in UK, so that's where the problems are

Thanks everyone, the first day has mainly been spent familiarising myself with the car and controls. I have setup profiles for me and my wife which is useful as we share the car a lot . I also set up a connected drive account and downloaded the app on my phone. The only driving I have managed is with the family in the car so haven't really explored the cars capabilities yet My wife is enjoying the cabin space, my 10 month old son loves the panoramic roof

A pleasant surprise has been that the climate comfort screen came with a blue coating as opposed to the usual purple coating which i think compliments the paint colour well

After day of driving the car is already filthy so i look forward to getting it to the detailers in a few week for some correction work and coating applied.

To all those waiting for their cars it wont be long now and I look forward to seeing everyone else's updates.

I don't mind the M badges on the fenders, after all, it is an M car. IMO, there are too many badges on the rear hatch!

They should just call it a X5MD or something like that. Not like there's a 40MD or a 30MD out there.

Welcome to the club - you're going to like it a lot. Watch your speed in the UK the limit is far to easily reached, even in my Dad's Yaris hybrid I was driving back this week. Back in Germany the M50d is more at home, where last night I could cruise at 120-130mph, and push over 140mph when clear - licence loosing speed in the UK!
