Had some runs with a V8 hemi Dodge Charger last night

Got in a few races with one of these 6.2L V8 hemi Chargers last night. Ran into him at a gas station and we chatted cars for awhile. Nice guy. His B5 Blue colored Charger was interestingly almost the same color as my YMB M. He said there are only 79 in B5 in the country. We both went on our way and then happened to run into each other on the highway around 12:30am. Got up to 125 without even realizing it before I got a little nervous racing in the dark where I couldn't see cops and other stuff. I don't know if I was pushing my car to its limits, but he was definitely pulling ahead in our short races with his impressive sounding engine.

The car in your picture is a Hellcat. Makes sense it would be ahead during a highway pull

Yea, I'm not sure if his was a Hellcat or not. I was mostly just searching for a pic of the color. It was a very windy 22 degrees last night so I wasn't into standing outside and chatting for all that long. He did tell me that he had the hemi V8, but I don't know enough about the Charger models to know what can come with which engine.

I was thinking he might have had the R/T scat pack or the SRT 392; Both of which have the 6.4 with 485 HP and 475 lb-ft. But that can't be since they run the quarter ~ mid 12s at 112mph. M4 should pull at higher speeds. I think you raced a Hellcat!

check the color? If it's that rare maybe it will give a hint of the model.

Yea, I tried that. Its not even listed on the Dodge site as an option. Maybe it's like one of the BMW custom colors.

man that color is exactly the same as my YMB M4

Those cars have the weight of an elephant (hellcat curb weight 4530lbs!!). If he was pulling ahead then 300% it was a hellcat.

The feline insignia located on the front quarter panel indicates that the car has 707 hp.

I've always kind of admired those cars..not enough to go out and buy one, but interesting cars. My buddy at work has a hellcat challenger and it is bonkers fast (straight line) and great sounding engine. He told me the valet key drops power down to "only" 500HP
