Settings JB4 for Upgrade Turbos! Need some help

Hy

Im running some TTE Turbos (comparable to the smaller pures)

Other Mods:

CPs
DPs
JB4

Im running 102 Octan

Cant seem to run over 22 PSI even if the target is higher as in map 7 what am i doing wrong? How do i need to set the jb4 to get more then 22 PSI.

You are only 1-2psi under target in this particular log. What's your FF/Wastegate adaption set at?

It's a setting in the JB4 app and it shows at the top of the logs as FF. If you are consistently under target FF should be working its way up automatically every time you log.

I highly recommend that you hire a competent tuner to tune those turbos.

I know from experience. Had hardware installed (Xona turbos, DPs) and screwed around with JB4 map 6 on my own. Got drivetrain malfunctions and poor results.

A wise person on this forum told me to get someone to tune my turbos. I did, and what a difference. Added over 200 whp and fuel problems solved. And get meth kit installed. Huge for safety. But follow your tuner's lead on that.

whoever you got the turbos from should be able to help with the tuning as well. Great suggestions as stated....post in n54 tech. Fueling is going to be a big problem as well. Port injection solved my problem

Thanx guys, did you guys get the turbos running properly with the Jb4 or did you switch to a normal benchflash to get them wer they should be?

I would like to dont open the DME till im covered by the warrenty.

You can run Jb4 only with upgraded turbos .. For max power you should do Flash + JB4

Back to your original question. Your log looks OK. The only issue I see is that you are just a touch under target, but not much and like I said FF should work it's way up over time to correct the targeting. You asked why you aren't boosting over 22psi. It's mostly because map 7 is only targeting about 23psi or so with the cooler IAT's. Your timing looks good, you could start turning up boost a little using map 6. Just go slow and check your logs for timing pulls.

A flash tune would be great but it's not what's causing you to not go above 22psi. It's because with the JB4 you have to go to map 6 or map 8 (with meth) to target higher boost levels under these conditions.

Also, setting "boost safety" to 30 or higher puts map 8 into hi-flow turbo mode, which targets a flat boost curve. I'm not sure if boost safety has any affect on map 7 targets however. That would be a question for BMS. If you use map 6 to raise boost, make sure boost safety stays set a few psi higher than your target.

I was hitting 27 psi on map7 prior to getting the upgraded turbos, thats why i was a bit unsere why im only hitting 22 psi.

Only thing i switched is boost target and no ther wasent any diffrenc if setted to 28 or 32 psi i was still only hitting 22psi.

What were the weather conditions when you were hitting 27psi before? I suspect that is the difference. I believe map 7 will adjust it's target based on ambient conditions. The log you posted above is targeting about 23 or so.

Boost safety isn't the same thing as boost target. Boost safety is a setting that will make the JB4 jump to map 4 if you exceed that setting for more than 1 second.
