What tune to go with?

I have a 2016 M3 non-competetition package so I do not have the burble throttle overrun. I want to tune the car and am open to both bench flash tunes and piggybacks. However, I am yet to find a piggyback that will produce the throttle overrun. Other supporting mods I am using are Injen intake, SSR downpipes, SSR charge pipes, and AWE exhaust. I am looking for the best gains as well as a burble tune out of the tune that I will be getting.

I am deciding between VF engineering, BM3, and ACM tune. Let me know which one I should go with and if there are any others that you would go with.

Best gains on pump fuel and best integration of the GTS features = HEX Tuning (VF Engineering)

If you like the idea of being able to customize in the near future (although it's not yet available) = BM3

You'll be happy with either option, I'm sure. Just make sure you get everything you want the first time around.

I chose HEX because I trust their R&D and testing and wanted to focus my energy towards just enjoying the car. I drive daily on Stage 2 and have Stage 2+ for when I want to run race fuel. This winter when it was raining a lot and I didn't need 120+ extra foot lbs. of torque I choose to use their ZCP/Competition MAP which made it much more fun to drive than stock, but also much more manageable on the wet roads.

BM3 and then get custom tuned with ACM if you like later. By far most feature rich flash option today and you can resell when you move on. Do your research here and you'll see BM3 cars holding down really awesome results including fastest S55 in the 1/4 on pump gas and stock turbos running 11.0, almost 10s with just their OTS 93 map.

Most of those threads are filled with irrelevant information. Looking for peoples opinions and more information on the different tunes.

These threads typically are full of users voicing their particular choices, you'll rarely find anyone (outside of a shop) that has experienced multiple tunes with supporting data.

Start a "what's the best exhaust" thread or anything with the words "best" or "vs" and you'll get the same results.

Actual user, able to formulate an educated opinion!

I have personal experience on my own car with JB4, GIAC, and HEX Tuning. I've been in a BM3 equipped car, and a car with a lesser known local southern California tuner. HEX Tuning and BM3 are the top two choices in the market right now for very good reason.

Everyone has an opinion, of course, but very few people AND VERY FEW SHOPS have first hand experience with brands they don't personally sell. Everything you read on the forums should be taken with a grain of salt and aside from making sure you get exactly what your paying for the only other piece of advice I have is to pick the brand who give you the best feeling of support after you speak to them. Unlike big corporate brands like Apple and Sony and BMW, you can pick up the phone and be connected to knowledgeable people at these companies any day of the week.

Since you are looking for the throttle overrun, i recommend you get a flash tune. Lots of options available but at this time BM3 offers more features and flexibility than any other flash tune
