Need advice...does this MPE look cracked?

Hi everyone I'm about to buy an exhaust that was used for 5k miles and need some advice. I got some good close ups on both sides of the canister. One side looks perfect but this one has a little blemish. Seller states that he can't feel an indent and that it's more of a black line than anything and he sounds pretty honest.

What do you guys think, is it a hairline crack? Pics in different light below.

Appreciate any opinion

Yes it is cracked. Black line and discoloration is the exhaust escaping through the crack and discoloring the can. Doesn't matter if he can't feel it it is cracked and will get worse unless you have it repaired. Trust me because I dealt with the same thing firsthand.

This is unacceptable, time and time again threads showing up with cracked MPEs.

Good thing that I hold off buying that exhaust.

BMW should've stayed with akrapovic as their exhaust manufacturer like previous MPE.

I don't understand why they made it out of titanium the M3/4 doesn't need any weight taking from the rear all they have done is make it silly expensive and clearly not very robust.

Here's the funny thing. I sent an email to BMW Dubai showing them the thread about the cracked MPEs and told them this is a widespread issue. So with that said, am I allowed to buy/fit the Akrapovic exhaust system which BMW Abu Dhabi (another city in the UAE near Dubai) sells? They official reply and this came from the warranty manager is NO. If I do that, my warranty is instantly void!

So I have scraped off the idea of upgrading the exhaust on the M4. Luckily, I will have the Sports exhaust which comes with the Competition pack on my next M4 so that is slightly better than the stock but still not happy about this response.

BMW needs to seriously fix these issues and stop selling MPEs until it's fixed.

Sorry, what? If you install an Akra axleback versus a piece of shit MPE, your warranty is void? Sounds like a fun place to do business.
