Refinishing/Clearcoat CF Exhaust tips

Has anyone re-clear coated their CF exhaust tips? I have a set of Akra CF tips that are showing some wear on the clear coat.

Given how expensive new tips are, I figure it might be worth having a reputable paint shop strip the old clear coat and re-clear the tips--maybe in a gloss finish.

My only concern is that a new clear coat may not be durable enough to withstand the heat emitted from the exhaust.
