1. Leave it on performance map or Activation map if it makes you feel better.
2. No clue. People are inherently deceptive on trade-in to the dealer but more forthcoming on private sales. |

I wouldn't tell dealership on trade. It's their problem to do the due dilligence.
Private sale, I would tell someone. Edit: I flash back to stock w/ tamper code removed. I also am up front with my SA. |

Regarding #2, intentionally re-locking the bootloader and putting a (true) stock map on the DME (prior to lease return or trade-in, for example) does not involve removal of the DME, so it's not as if it would cost several hundred dollars in labor, and could be carried out remotely.

If you flash your car, you have to accept the consequences behind them. This will probably lower your second hand value of your car as it will not be accepted by a big portion of the crowd.
Now what you could do is put the car back to stock and then sell it. but a detailed DD by the customer and he will know of the mods. Probably could not sell it as a pre-owned BMW vehicle. |

You do that on a flashed car and the end result is a tamper code. |

Re-locking the bootloader is as simple as re-flashing the bootloader (and, of course, re-flashing the DME with an OE map). Also as stated elsewhere, I've done this first-hand, and a tamper code in ISTA (which I've seen before) is nowhere to be found after doing so. I'm happy to be enlightened, though, and aim not to be argumentative, but rather to put forth first-hand information in aim to prevent the spread of false information. |

Car came good enough for me standard. Never tell the dealer. Tell if you're selling to someone lest we find you in a hole
