Removing Hood on F82 - Any DIY?

Hey Guys. Im getting the new CF GTS style hood form MTC (Exotics Tuning). Im thinking of doing the replacement myself. Does any here know of a DIY? How long it might take? Can I do it alone?
Please advise.

Unclip washer nozzles from the hood
Then unscrew bolts on both side. Hood will free to be removed.

2 persons is ideal i think but you can perform alone since the alu hood is not that heavy by the way you better have strong arms and good body balance.

I did it twice before with 2 different ways.
1st time, after removing all bolts, I stayed on the side of the car (near wing mirrors) and lifted the hood up. However, it's not easy and I had luck.

2nd time, i folded the hood down to about 20-30 degree and tied the hinges with long string to hood locks on the bay (any other strong body parts can be used to make the hood stay near the close position). After that I slid the hood off from the front. Much easier this way.

Trick: when you slide it off, the hood wont move up (which is good) BUT it can still move down. Therefore, tie it tight and slide it without pushing it down.

PS. One person can take an hour but with 2 persons take 10 minutes. Do it at your own risk and girl next door could be handy sometime.

Installation new hood, just reverse the process.

Better remove the hooks and other stuffs on the old one before taking it off, and reinstall them after new hood is attached.

Post install, if you need to do any adjustments check my post http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...0&postcount=36

It is very handy to have ISTA/D as it contains many installation/repair docs.

Can you define, clarify what you mean by "other stuff" to remove? My new hood arrives today.

Bump stops, hooks and small black buttons which i have no idea what they're for (near the hinges)

Wish you enjoy your new hood

Just a little tease of my new vented hood courtesy of MTC (formerly EXOTICS TUNING). 1x1 CF weave... sporting it this way for now. But i plan to paint match and Xpel Stealth wrap it later after Bimmerfest.
Sorry for the iphone "after install" pics... will take better pics later when Im done getting it all built out with MTC track lip and such. Lol.
