2008 M3 Convertible is IN PRODUCTION!!!!

I just got the call from my dealer. I'm really quite excited...

I finally opted for the Jet Black over Fox red, (just last night) even though i've never seen the fox in person, i'm thinkin' it should be pretty sweet, besides, it's an M3 right? I realize the black "hides" the nice lines of the M3 but wow, when the black is clean, there's no car sexier than a black sports car!!

Anyway, my dealer just called me about 30 mins ago(Chicago Motorwerks) and said it just went into production TODAY!!! He estimated it will be in Chicago by the first week of June, and he'll immediately have it transported to MONTANA... take advantage of those no speed limits.!!!

I got it as loaded as i could:

Cold weather package; Premium Package; Technology Package; 19" wheels
Park Distance; HD Radio; Satellite Radio; Ipod/USB; Premium Sound;
Dest/Gas Guzzler was 2475 total. Total Price: $77,470

I originally had the extended leather, but removed it, i thought it looked better without the extended, plus a bit cheaper!

So the wait begins.

Thanks for all the pictures, actually the pictures on here of the the Jerez, Jet Black, fox interior, space gray,.... all helped me with my decision. Thanks guys,... i'm sooo excited

can't wait to take pictures and post them...

Congrats! I'm waiting for a call like that!! Two questions...

1.] You didn't specify a transmission. Did you get 6MT or M-DCT? Would be killer if you were getting an M-DCT for June delivery!

2.] How long ago did you place your order? I placed mine this past weekend (26 April) and want to have some concept of how long I'll have to wait for the thing to enter production.

I got the 6-sp transmission. I asked my dealer about the M-DCT and he told me that BMW is currently having issues with the manufacturer of that transmission and you won't be seeing that transmission in the states until later in the year, and I DID NOT want to wait for that. So, i went with the 6-speed manual.

I'm awaiting an E93 M3 DCT which today my dealer says will arrive mid-June!!! Cannot wait!

Huh? M-DCT M3s are being delivered in Europe

So does the production number have anything to do with the build date? My production number starts with 672 as well, but my dealer couldn't tell me when it'd be built.

Nice - great news and congrats!! I'm getting closer with my dealer to finalizing on price. I bought my 535i 5 months ago from them and it's been tough getting them to give me what I want for the trade...we are very close now though and I'm hoping to have good news today!
