Stock F82 JB4 benefits?

I spent a quite a bit of time in the search section and couldn’t find a direct answer for what I am looking for...

I’ve read about all the power advantages of a JB4 and considering purchasing one in the near future. Are there any benefits / power advantages to running this stock or should one wait for DPs, intake, exhaust, etc. before purchasing? Is there a base level map that increases output without these mods? If so, what kind of differences have you seen?

The JB4 is a tuning tool that works well at adding power to a 100% stock car, and can also support physical modifications down the road should you want more.

Over 50WHP on a bone stock car. Even more power can be had with additoinal mods like downpipes and other hardware.

There is quite a few dyno graphs available from the manufacturer.

Bone Stock

Race Gas Map

Here is how the maps work:
JB4 Map Guide
Map 0: Disable JB4 / Full Pass Through Mode
Map 1: Stage1 map adding approximately 40whp and 40wtq across the power band on pump gas. Suitable for all stages and fuel mixtures.
Map 2: Slightly more aggressive version of map 1 intended for vehicles with exhaust modifications and 93+ octane fuel. Can also be used with E85 and racing fuel mixtures.
Map 3: Slightly less aggressive version of map 1 intended for vehicles running on lower grade fuels such as 91 octane.
Map 4: OEM performance but with JB4 active for diagnostics only.
Map 5: //M low torque / linear throttle map.
Map 6: Custom tuning map.
Map 7: Race gas map. Requires 100 octane unleaded fuel and for the fuel mass connector to be installed. This map can also be used with up to 35% E85.
Map 8: Methanol injection map. Requires BMS FSB controller or methanol kit for progressive mapping and safety systems.

Jeff summed it up perfectly.

Jb4 works just as well on a stock car but you see users/vendors recommending JB stage 1 for stock application because it is cheaper and offers same power gains.
If you plan on adding more mods in the future, JB4 is the way to go.

All the above,
I ran the Stage 1 for awhile and thought the car was strong.....well my eyes were opened. This thing is scary to me now and I have no bolt ons yet, not sure I need them. Stock motor, MPE still with secondary cats, carbon filters removed, JB4, 93/E85 aprox E32, map 6 additive or map 7

From my understanding you can run Stage 2 with 93 octane and no other mods.

Is this correct?

Stage 2 JB4 will run on stock cars with 91 octane plus.

map 2 on the Jb4 is recommended for users with 93 octane and downpipes.

Get Bootmod3 93octane or E30 OTS Map and make better powerband that JB4 map2/map7 does with e85/100 racegas.

The OP is inquiring about the JB4 not a flash.....quite possibly he wants the flexibility of the piggyback vs a flash for whatever reason.

Yes, Map 2. I had my wires crossed with a Dinan Stage 2.

I live in Florida where the 93 flows like wine (lots of e85 pumps around me too) so I'm seriously considering a JB4. I'm planning on aFe high-flow catted downpipes and from what it sounds like a JB4 Map 2 will be just the thing I'm looking for.

Thanks for the feedback.

You can definitely run map 2 with some E85 or/and high flow downpipes
