How do you properly jack up the car?
I've seen a few youtube videos and tutorials but I can't find the specific answer for our f80 M3's.
On the rear end, the tutorials I've read is to use the the rear A-arm as a central jacking point and some say that the frame behind the differential is okay too. That way we can you the side jacking points to place jack stands. Any thoughts? Also, do we have a front central jack point? Pictures are worth a thousand words? Thanks guys, I know this topic seems silly but it's not intuitive to me on the proper way top lift the car. |

why not use the jack points? this is covered extensively in other threads but use a jack point, then place a jack stand. its not even remotely difficult or confusing. the car is stiff enough that you can jack a whole side at one point.

Car goes up using one of the front jack points high enough so I can get a jack under the front to lift the from the center jack point and put jack stands under the front jack points. This leaves the rear too low to access the rear suspension so I lift the car from a rear jack point until I can get another jack under the back of the car. Then up it goes until I can get stands underneath the rear points. I am seriously thinking about the Quickjack. |
